Springtime is always inspiring to me, and this year even more as I was secluded at home. This artwork is part of my "Of the Garden" series. It began with observing some sweet peas growing on a neighboring farmers fence. I stopped and looked at these many times, and the pods were especially beautiful near sunset with the sun coming through them. The caterpillar is one of a host of caterpillars that visit our backyard each year. And, at the very bottom of the painting is a Matilija Poppy bud and leaves. These are very popular and beloved flowers here in Ojai.
This painting is framed and ready to hang in a subtle light wood maple frame.
