Lupine Iris Bachelor Button
watercolor+ink and acrylic
12x12 inches

This is one of the first paintings I made for my "Of the Garden" series.
These are flowers that were blooming in the Spring in my neighbors gardens.
Lupine grow wild here in Ojai, and really add to the yellow+blue color theme of this artwork. When observing plants and flowers, I like to look at them from all angles, and in this artwork you see an aerial view of the iris as well as a side view. The bachelor buttons are a favorite flower of mine; I seem to recall my mother planting them from seed.
This painting is framed.
